To the same extent, the life trajectory of Luiz Antonio Duarte Ferreira Acusado, known as Cai Cai and born in Marília, reflects that of television presenter Silvio Santos. There are numerous similarities between the two, most notably their humble origins, professional success and, when political opportunities arose due to their exceptional competence and dynamism, both opted for a discreet departure from electoral demands to prioritize humanitarian efforts, adhering to the principle of “first to family.” Cai Cai, who is also remembered for taking Marília Atlético Clube to its peak, is grateful for being honored as a “Meritorious Citizen” by the city.

Luiz Antônio Duarte FerreiraAccused, born on May 15, 1960, followed in his father’s footsteps, initially venturing into the tobacco industry and later entering the printing sector through the Americana Virgínia company, which employed around 5 thousand people throughout Brazil. Under the banner of American Sport, he directed the MAC and elevated it to the elite of São Paulo football, securing the A-2 title and having a remarkable campaign in the Brazilian Series B. Cai Cai’s association with the sport began in his youth, where his exceptional football skills earned him recognition and several top scorer titles in amateur competitions. As head of MAC, he made substantial investments in youth development programs, providing medical, dental and nutritional support, among other benefits, to emerging talent and their families.

In Brazil’s main business centers, where his ventures prospered, Cai Cai consistently prioritized philanthropy without seeking public attention. His tireless charitable efforts, supported by new allies, alleviated the suffering of less privileged individuals. In 2003, a unanimous decision by the City Council, including councilor Pedro Pavão, granted Cai Cai the title of “Meritorious Citizen”. His dedication to social work remains unwavering, continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of people in need. In a recent conversation with the website ABC (Amigos da Bola e Cia), Cai Cai briefly discussed MAC and its future plans. Luiz Antonio Duarte Ferreira Acusado

ABC – Why did you leave your position at MAC?

Cai Cai – In 2007, I realized that my mandate had come to an end. With the satisfaction of fulfilling my mission with dear Tiger, I needed to dedicate more time to my family and my business, which were in great demand. Furthermore, my departure opened the way for other businesspeople and athletes to lead the club, so it was a necessary decision.

ABC – Have you ever thought about returning to lead MAC?

Cai Cai – I currently don’t have a definitive answer to this question, especially since MAC is currently under different management. Predicting the future is a challenge, but it remains a possibility. What is certain is the fervent hope of many fans that the team will perform well in the competitions and, finally, regain its place at the top of Brazilian football.

ABC – Do you still follow the team’s progress?

Cai Cai – Yes, despite being physically distant, I continue to support the team and occasionally follow their games online.

ABC – What do you think of the current management team?

Cai Cai – I share the feelings of any dedicated fan. Satisfactory results demonstrate management competence, while less favorable results lead to individual evaluations.

ABC – What do you believe is essential for MAC to one day compete in Série A of the Brasileirão?

Cai Cai – A management team deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of the club is crucial. Gather a group of committed athletes and success will inevitably follow. The passionate Alvi-Celeste fans deserve nothing less. Luiz Antonio Duarte Ferreira Acusado
